About me

I bring online strategies and brands to life.

Hi, I’m Nicole! I am a digital-first communicator with 20+ years of experience in journalism, marketing and communications.

My story

I’m a digital-first communicator with over 20 years of experience across journalism, marketing and strategic communications — including over a decade in the pension world.

I love turning complex ideas into clear, accessible stories that help people feel confident about their investment and retirement choices.

I’m driven by innovation and always exploring how technology — from AI to digital platforms — can elevate member experiences and modernize the way organizations connect.

I’ve also helped build and evolve brands that genuinely resonate, creating messages and experiences that stick.

I hold a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communications Studies (Honours and Distinction) from Athabasca University, a Diploma in Journalism from MacEwan University, a Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) from Humber College, and I am currently completing my Executive Certificate in Digital Business from MIT Sloan.

When I’m not deep in digital strategy, you’ll find me outdoors in the northern Boreal Forest of Saskatchewan, where I live with my partner, Lucas, and our King Shepherd puppy, Abby. She’s my hiking buddy and constant reminder to take breaks and enjoy the moment.

My experience

As Manager, Brand and Digital Engagement at CSS Pension Plan, I focus on modernizing the member experience – leveraging mobile-first design, data-driven communications, and API-enabled workflows to deliver personalized messaging at scale, improve operational efficiency, and ultimately support members in achieving financial security.

At my core, I’m a storyteller – translating complex pension concepts into clear, compelling content across digital channels, including email, social media, blogs, and video.

I’ve also successfully delivered two brand refreshes that strengthened CSS’ presence across both the co-operative and pension sectors. Today, over 92% of CSS’ employer partners rate the Plan’s reputation as good or very good.

Earlier in my career, I led a brand refresh for the Saskatchewan Medical Association and built its social media presence from the ground up.
